Really bad brake dust

Hey guys, I need some help. I put my summer wheels on in a hurry this year and didn't have a chance to seal/wax them beforehand. I did do it the year before, the last time being about 1 month before they came off the car for winter. I was really busy for about a month and the brake dust buuilt up pretty bad. I tried to jsut wash it off but I only removed 50% of it with regular soap and a brush. Then I tried using some P21s gel cleaner. That barely made a dent. I was recommended to try Gloss-it cleaner, which I did, and after using the entire bottle on 2 wheels, I still had made little progress. I'm starting to think that I'm going to have to get them repainted. Does anyone have some ideas for me? The wheels are Advan RS and the my brake pads are Carbotech AX6 (which aren't supposed to dust to bad). Any help is appreciated, I can take pictures if needed.

any HF based wheel cleaner will get them brake dust free in a matter of seconds. Just watch your dilution ratio's and use it wisely.

What brand would that be?

Thanks

Megs wheel brightner.

Purple power makes an OTC one that can be found at autozone/oreillys/etc

Edit: BTW, I know nothing about those rims but if they are bare aluminum the HF cleaners WILL damage them.

Wheel brightener doesn't get EVERYTHING off, but it will get most of it off if you have a good assortment of brushes. I dilute it anywhere between 1:1 to 4:1. Just make sure they aren't aluminum like the above poster said because it'll ruin your rims.

Can you post some pics?

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. They aren't aluminum, they're painted. I will post some pics tomorrow, warning though, they haven't been washed in a few weeks, and its pretty embarrassing. I'll have them up tomorrow morning.

Ok here are some pics, the first one is before, then I sprayed them off and wiped a few spokes down. The spots are stuck on there, no amount of scrubbing or cleaners was able to remove it. Also, this is what they look like after 2 hours of scrubing just that 1 wheel a couple weeks back. sorry for the bad pics, I was in a hurry, the passenger side wheel is 10x worse.
