Whats a good rotary to start with and yet still be satisfied with the purchase later on?i'm a real fast learner and ive tried the rotary maybe once or twice. I feel like i want to learn the rotary not because im stuck with the PC just for the fact that if any job comes along, i would be able to correct it to perfection. I was looking at the makita with the 6.5 backing plate.

any suggestions ?

9227 is the rotary i worked with before summer ended and it was something i enjoyed...

i think that being said and the price. Whats a good combo of pads / etc to get?

im a bit confused on the wool also.

It really depends exactly what you're looking for. Prices vary for different pad types but Autogeek usually has pretty good deals when purchase more of one type.

i wasnt to much of a fun of the edge pads when i was using it with the DA

do you think its a much different feeling with rotary? or should i stick with the LC /velcro

Both are good pads, for sure. I have the entire six inch line of edge wool pads, and I love em. I also have the red (autogeek exclusive) six ince Edge 2k wave foam pad, which is a very nice finishing pad. I like the edge 2k wave foam pads, as they run quite a bit cooler than regular flat foam pads do.

I also have a wide variety of LC foam pads, and the LC 6.5" Purple Foamed Wool pad, which is my go-to pad for correcting paint. The PFW pad can be used with any medium weight polish or heavy compound with great results. LC's CCS foam pads are really nice, too.

You can't really go wrong with whichever you chose. I really like having both, though. ;)

Make sure you get a pad brush and pad spur (if you get wool pads).

Or if you have money to play with, you can get the Edge 2000 System Pad Cleaner or Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer. :o

School's ALMOST over... this Wednesday. I plan on doing reviews on the slew of products that I recently purchased over the past few months. Perhaps I'll just put it all in one thread and keep adding on. :p

Oh and yeah, I ended up going with the UPW. :bounce
