RE: Duragloss 105

I would like to see some differrnt pics of cars with the 105 on them. I have seen all the cars here Bart's truck I have seen but the lighting was low in the garage so really could not tell; if he could post more of his truck would be appreciated or of any one else for that matter.
The 105 is the final cut of three sealants that I will pick from wanting to narrow it down further.

regards mongo

MONGO as I type this it is overcast and raining here in northern Indiana but when it clears I will try to get some photos. Did you see the pictures of the hood on AL-53 truck. that was shot in the sun.

Re: Duragloss 105

Yes I have seen his truck which is red ; white from what I've seen looks really good as well as silver.
Does the 105 give the paint a sterile look?

Just whenever you can get some pics up would be fine with me

thanx mongo

Well it has stopped raining but very overcast. I may try a few pictures just to see how they turn out. My truck is not the best to use for what can be done with the 105 for two reasons one it now has 115000 miles and some acid rain damage and I did not make any effort to correct it because to do so may result in going through the clear coat. This is just a every day truck not something for show but I notice it turns heads when I drive it.
I plan on going one full year before I wax again that is what they say it can do and I plan on finding out if it can do it or not. I would guess that most on this board will try to maximize their vehicle shine and detail it often but I have 7 vehicles to keep clean and one is a show car. I spend a lot of time with the show car so the truck just got a quick polish and then the 105 put on it.
Other than an occasional wash I don't plan on doing anything with it. This time next year I will be able to tell you if it lives up to the durability claims.

Re: Duragloss 105

Ya its between the Duragloss 105, Meg's 21 sealant and Zaino which I have used and its easy once you get the hang of it.

Well it is overcast now but the sun came out for about 30 minutes and I took a few pictures. The hood has the most damage from acid rain so I took a close up and it is labeled hood so you will know what part you are looking at.
Since it was so cloudy the hood shot didn't come out so good what you are seeing in the hood is the overcast sky.
As I said this is a high mileage truck not trying to make excuses for Duragloss but just remember this was not a maximum effort to see what I could do with it. The results are good enough to suit me for a Daily driver. It has been over a week since I put the 105 on and I have done nothing to the truck not even wipe it but I have noticed that when it gets covered with dust all you need to do is drive it and the dirt blows off :rofl

Re: Duragloss 105

Bart whether or not 105 is selected ; I do appreciate you taking those pics !the 1st one I thought was the best showing the hood and side.
The 105 does look pretty good I can see why people are comparing to Z-5pro.
I am going to have a hard time deciding LOL.

thanx again , mongo

Both are good products.
Those pictures are not very good maybe i will take more when we have a sunny day. The past week until today we have had so much sun that you could not go out. Man it has been hot. If you decide to try the Duragloss be sure to get a bottle of their FC&S that is some incredible stuff.

Re: Duragloss 105

I can sympathize about the acid rain etching. On a dark color any defect will show up. Duragloss is a quality product but it won't do any filling. Z5pro will do some filling and make some defects less noticable. IMO on a dark car Z5pro and Z8 is a very good combo. IF you choose to go the Duragloss route get the AW and apply it monthly. Adds some extra pop.

Re: Duragloss 105

I've seen pics of he 105 on a white Toyaota Mr2 the paint really popped more than anyting I have seen ; a white truck wth just aquawax it looked good also. Actually I think Duragloss is more durable and procects better than Zaino.

Re: Duragloss 105

I did my truck (white suv) back in April with 2 coats of EX-P and 2 coats of Natty's Blue. This past month I did a light coat of AW and loved it. I'm going to be stripping down and doing 2 coats of EX-P again, and spit shine 2-3 coats of Natty's Blue then topped with AW so everything is done freshly together. Lets see how wet and deep we can get white to look :D

EX-P and NB already looked incredible on my white

I plan on finding out about the durability but one thing that is a plus is I can buy at my local car-quest no shipping or waiting and a Bottle of 105 cost about the same as the shipping on the products that must be purchased on-line. I bought the polish/ Fast clean & shine and the AW for just a little over twenty bucks. Next week I'm going to do the wifes SUV with 105 Winters in northern Indiana can be hard on vehicles this year all of mine will be wearing Duragloss by this time next year we will see how it held up.
I'm a big fan of Pinnacle Souveran but this stuff comes as close to PS as any sealant for depth and wet look and now that PS is selling at $79.99 then you got shipping on top of that I'm not sure I Will be buying more of it.

Re: Duragloss 105

I've never used PS but another very wet sealant is Tropicare. The latest version of Z2pro is also very wet looking.

That sucks where do you live. I live in a rural area but go to town once or twice a week for supplies and pick up anything I need while I'm in town.

Duragloss website shows carquest and Napa as selling it but my local Napa said that they did not handle it because they had to buy in volume to get the price but my carquest has it.
I went to a car show this weekend and I cleaned my car when I got their with the FC&S. The sun was out 88 degrees and my Black car was hot but it worked pretty good but I did notice that when I tried to do a larger area it dried before I got it wiped off and it looked hazy. I reapplied it and only did about a 2 square foot area at a time and wiped it right away and it left the surface incredibly slick and looked awesome. This is on top of Pinnacle Souveran. OH also worth noting I won a award in a field of about 400 cars.
