I know leaf blowers have been covered before but I was wondering if the neighbors or people driving by stopped and laughed when you were doing it or wondered what in the world you were doing. I was planning on trying it but just did not want to look like an idiot in the process.

I know how you feel.Just the other day I had a planned on detailing my wife's 4runner.The carport was dirty so I got my leaf blower out to blow out the stall Before washing her vehicle. While I was washing the car I left the leaf blower out to cool off. When I finished washing her car I remembered that members on this site had been using leaf blowers on their vehicles. The temptation was there but so were several of my neighbors. So I resisted temptation for the moment. However since that day I have gotten an 24" industrial circulator head and stand. While I am fidgeting with other things preparing for the detailing task at hand I am moving this hurricane force fan around my carport.Later JB

2007 Ford Edge, exterior paint correction only.

This vehicle belongs to a good friend of mine and was recently purchased for his wife; I believe he said it had around 12,000 miles on the clock. We had originally planned on only doing a 1-step correction, but upon delivery it was obvious that the DISO was just too deep and it would require a 2-step. There were also several RIDS in various areas, most too deep to be removed, but I offered to give them a light sanding in hopes of making them less noticeable.

Owner had dropped the car off washed (touchless) so I just gave it a quick ONR bath. I then clayed with Meguiars Mild clay and Last Touch as lube.

Before pics.

My process for correction was M105 via the Flex DA and an orange LC pad. The clear on this vehicle was rock hard and M105 finished down VERY well...I?d say LSP ready for a 1-step job. Since I had just received some Poli-Seal which I've been wanting to try it out, I chose to follow with that on the PCXP with a white LC pad. (Wet sanded areas were hit with the rotary and M105)

Here is a 50/50 shot after just M105 and an IPA wipe down.

I was definitely in a hurry on this one and the owner showed up just as I finished, so I'm sorry but I forgot to take a few of the after pics.

Trim dressed with Poorboys Trim Restorer
Tires dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1
Glass done with Megs D120
Chrome done with Optimum Metal Polish

nce job rasky i was surprised at how well the m105 finished down. i was tempted to go right to lsp.... not!!! but it did finish nice

Thanks!

This was the first car where I felt I could go right to LSP (for a basic correction anyway) but I simply could never bring myself to do that no matter how good it looked! ;)

Looks great! I hate those stupid dealer stickers.

Don't we all! At least it was just a sticker and not the plastic ones....I really hate those ones!

Man that flake is really poppin now. Great job Chad

Thanks Flash!

Thanks Angelo! Yeah, my back is killing me today still. He did save me some time bringing it in washed and the wheels were new. So really most of the 8hrs were spent buffing. The whole roof is glass too except for a 4 inch piece down each side. That and the Poly-Seal step went much quicker. ;)

Another awesome job, Rasky!!

I wish I could do all that work in 8 hours !!

Thanks for sharing .

Thanks Dan! See the comment above about the amount of time spent. ;)

super impressive as usual, 50/50s are great!

Thanks David! :)

Thanks Bret! Even though it did look LSP ready after M105, I did follow it up with Poli-Seal, which does have a slight cut to it. ;)

Excellent quick correction Chad!

Thanks Bryan!

Thanks Puckman!

Sweet job!!!

What product/technique did you use to get rid of the dealer decal?

Thank you!

I heat the decal up with a heat gun and usually they will peel right off. If they leave any glue behind I will just take some 3M Adheasive Remover to it. ;)
