RainX

Cool I was a little weary of putting it on my car because i didn't know how it was going to work but now im going to auto zone and picking up a bottle. Great vid :bigups :bigups :10:

How dose it work with :snow: :snow: :snow: I know you mentioned that the freezing point got lower but will the snow hit the windshield and just fly off to like the rain will or will it stick????

It's about the same with snow whether you have it or not. What it does do is keep the freezing point lower. Another cool thing is when it snows when it is sort of warm and then it freezes, the snow beads up and you just scrape ice droplets off the glass instead of a sheet of ice. That is especially helpful in freezing rain climates. I don't care what brand you use when it comes to glass protection like this. Anything that does what RainX does is a major help. I'll do another video this weekend with only half the windshield treated so you can see the dramatic difference that it really makes.

I personally think this is something that should impact your insurance rates. They ask if you are a smoker since smokers are more at risk of not having both hands on the wheel and their insurance is higher. If you quit then you have to inform the insurance company. Why not give a discount for people who take steps to make their driving safer by applying products like this to their windshield?

Thanks for the reply.

That would be cool if it was a discount on the insurance. Do you have this as an option on your detail packages???

I ask them if they have any problem with me treating their windshields with something that will help visibility in the rain, but it isn't something I charge extra for. It is all built into the cost. If they have strong feelings about not using RainX then I wouldn't use it, but that hasn't ever come up before. I've honestly only had a couple customers who were even aware of what it did. They had seen it on the shelf before, but like most consumers they were so overwhelmed with all the options that they didn't even read the box.

i would recommend perhaps 2 applications a year maximum dependant on your areas climate of course .. you shouldnt really have to use it more than 2x a year in my eyes anyways .

No way do I get 6 months of performance from RainX. Maybe 5 or 6 weeks tops. You're doing something right and I must be doing something wrong to get that much disparity:passout:

I'm with Rabbi on this one. Two washes and the RainX is not effective. I really like the product but apply it virtually every time I was the vehicle.

Great videos. I personally stopped using rain x. I get wiper hop like crazy.

I get the same results as the above two posts, 2-3 washes of durability and wiper serious wiper hop. I am thinking about buying Carlack86's windshield treatment from Jeff's Werkstat. I have heard the durability is much better than RainX's.
