rain, rain, sun, sun, sun, rain again

So the weather here is a bit bothersome for an Autopian. It'll rain one day, then downpour, then be sunny & perfect for 2-3 days, back to rain for a few days, and then sun again :wall.

What does everyone do in a similar situation? Just do a quick wash at the beginning of a sunny streak even though it'll rain in a few days? Or just QD the hood, roof, and trunk and clean the windows (the top of the side panels are ok, the bottom part is too dirty for QD)? The mild water spots and dirt on my dark grey Mazda 6 start to annoy me once the sun pops out :).

yes!!! I know what u mean!! It was really stormy last night.. then it was blue skies in the morning.. but the weather man said it might rain again in the afternoon.

Yep about the same weather here in Mendocino County but a lot more rain then the Bay Area and colder too, luckly I have a garage to work in

Same thing with my car over the past month or so. I try not to let it get bad, but after a few days of rain there is no chance of keeping it looking nice. Today was the first sunny day, so I washed it with QEW, dressed tires, cleaned the rims, glass, and went over the interior really quick. I parked the car in my friend's garage for a while since it looks like rain, but now it's outside my house and will probalby get poured on tonight.

We are getting your storm as I write this down here in SoCal.

I did wash the car last Friday, between storms, even though I knew it would be raining again today (Tuesday).

I can relate. I washed my car on sunday. Went to the coin op sprayed it down and filed my bucket and then soaped then paid the fee again to rinse. any who then last night I dressed the tires(thick coat to) went outside this morning for class and it was raining so its like skip class or take the car out of the garage. I went to class. now its supposed to be on and of rain till sat.

its like that in parts of Florida,a 10 minute rainstorm then sunshine sometimes day after day.Very hard to keep your car clean.........................and if the rainstorm doesn't get you the automatic sprinklers will

well, this morning I couldn't take it anymore since the forecast says no chance of rain until the middle of next week (slight chance, of course).

I sprayed the side panels with lots of water from a spray bottle, 'washed' it with a MF towel, and dried it with a waffle weave towel. I cleaned the windows and used some QD for the hood, roof and trunk. Quick and not very Autopian, I know.

I havent washed mine in a good couple weeks due to this, its hard to sit there and see it filthy week in and wek out, but if youve got a good coat of wax under neath all the crud, there isnt muhc to worry about. Just wait for the next decent stretch of sun to wash it again.

Consider yourselves lucky. Where I live, there's sun--dust breeze--sun--dusty wind--light drizzle--dust--sun--STRONG SUN--really light drizzle...

If you don't park in a covered area, your car would eventually look like it's covered with barnacles.

Ugh, finally washed mine today, all i heard was that horrible screeching sound of towel and paint, nothing left on it.

Sucks even more when you make your living detailing. :(

This month would have been so much better if there wasn't so much rain in the forecast the first and last weeks of the month. It wasn't a horrible month but I won't beat last October...but still up on the whole year. :)

I haven't washed my own car since Saturday afternoon. I may tomorrow if I get done early but rain is in the forecast Sunday through Tuesday now.
