RAIN .. Of course.

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
:rain:  The 4 letter word most detailers HATE. Started off a normal early sat. morning detail. Wanted to try out my new Gtechniq T1 Tire/trim that I got eariler this week. Just got done drying off and started to apply the Gtechniq to the first tire....RAIN.... Really? You got to be kidding me. I know they were calling for it all weekend, but figured I could finish up BEFORE it started. NO SIR. Gave up went in and did the grocery shopping. Got caught in a downpour and we both got soaked! LOL. We took the Escape. Later in the day I was determined to finish this! Pulled it in the garage and dried it off. Got Gtechniq on all 4 tires. DONE. And it`s staying in the garage. Let it rain. I don`t care now. WOW the Gtechniq is really a stunning tire product! After the tires were cleaned, a few drops on a foam applicator and apply. SIMPLE. Very impressive finish. DRY TO THE TOUCH. No way this stuff is going to sling. I did 2 coats for each tire. I will try to get some pics later. Sadly AG or AT does not carry this product. Fun day. Off to the porch for some cold ones...

On the tire I did manage to get finished, the rain just ran/beaded right off! Almost like a coating. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

And...Calling for rain all next weekend. Can`t win.

I hear you on that...went to wash my car today and knew it was going to rain but didn`t think until tonight...wrong. Finished cleaning my wheels and tires and was moving on to an Uber Rinseless wash. Finished the hood, drivers side and roof when it started to rain...so frustrating no garage either right now...The car is coated in Cquartz so it wasn`t dirty for not being washed for a few weeks...

I had to many errands to get done before the van got any attention. S hope I could get the inside vacuumed. Not today I guess

I decided to put down some Spectracide granules between the rain cells.
Hopefully those little gnats stop biting my ankles in the yard now. Now I don`t need to wet the lawn when done.

Hoping to get a car in tomorrow if we get a break.

I had my Camino all prepped for a judged show on Sunday and already had an indoor parking spot reserved that I could access Saturday AM. The rain started about 7 AM Sat., but finally slowed down around 2:00, so I ran home from work and switched cars, driving the Camino about 6 miles in a light rain. Fortunately, I had some time to wipe it down once in the building, so a bit of Britemax detailer and a few MF`s later, it looked respectable. I`ll be there about 9 AM Sunday, so we`ll see if it looks ready to show.

I was in the middle of mowing (takes a little less than 2 hr) and the rain began. Now, I have to wait until later today so it dries out.

Now I know where they got the saying "Rain on your parade". Yes we really did need the rain tho! That was the first decent rain in weeks. PA was going thru a heat wave. Grass was drying up. Cut friday. First time in 3 weeks. Bunky has another good one. Also nothing more aggreavating than starting to cut grass then a down pour.

Yea we got those same rain fronts here in Fulton Co. PA, I assume you`re in Somerset county?. I needed to head into town, was going to take the Jetta since its been sitting a while, but looked at the radar. Nope. I took the truck. Then was teased about not taking the Jetta out in the rain.... lol.

We got light rain on and off this past week until yesterday . I am glad because It was clear skies and upwards of 95 degrees for almost an entire month. My daily driver had not been washed in like 3weeks but after a couple of rainfalls ,it looked like it had only been a week ,thank goodness for paint sealants and coatings.

Funny... A few weekends ago, I washed and topped up my BF carnuba... Then we had scattered showers. The car just sat in the laneway, but it got dried 3 times that day!
