Radar Detecor on the friz? (just laser)

I have a Beltronics Rx55, I used to use it all the time, I had all alerts go off supraticly but thats due to some airport equipment that xmits on the same Freq no big deal.

So here is a head scratcher... Can anyone expain why my detector would go ape ship crasy, JUST LASER BAND! when I take my car to full trottle or almost full, I have a 03 mini cooper S if I recall right it did it with my 93 rx7 too.

Operating Bands

• X-band 10.525 GHz ± 25 MHz

• K-band 24.150 GHz ± 100 MHz

• Ka-band 34.700 GHz ± 1300 MHz

• Laser 904nm, 33 MHz bandwidth

Radar Receiver / Detector Type

• Superheterodyne

• Scanning Frequency Discriminator

• Digital Signal Processing (DSP)

Laser Detection

• Quantum Limited Video Receiver

• Multiple Laser Diodes

My Escort 8500 does the same thing - I've been told that it has something to do with the voltage supplied to the unit. Apparently putting a line filter on the 12v in will fix it.

I had alternator problems once that would cause laser to go off. Apparently, they're really sensitive to power supply fluctuations.

Laser ALWAYS goes off with my Valentine 1 due to late model Infiniti FX, QX, and M cars and their laser-guided cruise control/lane departure warning. It is quite annoying.

Other than that, no false signals.

Devilsown: Not sure why yours is doing this.
