Race Glaze Products

I have just been speaking to Race Glaze in the UK and they are going to send me some samples to try. I will report back my findings. I was particularly interested in there carnauba wax as I find this type of product difficult to source in the UK. Also on Sunday I will be meeting there "expert" at a car show so I would like to know what other people think of the durability, performance etc of the products so I can ask some very direct questions. Also this carnauba is advertised as filling swirls and scratches but contains no polymers (synthetic I presume) or sealants. What do the experts think ? Was this tested in the WAX REPORT ?

thanks

Steve

IIIIiiiiinteresting! I have used Race Glaze for years and I guess I never paid enough attention or something because I didn't even know they made a carnuaba wax! I like their Gloss Highlight QD spray a lot. The signature product, the polish, pretty much rocks too. Overall I have had good luck with their products, but I know a few of my buddies think that removing the polish is a little tricky and its gets rather dusty.

I believe they were in the Wax Report....

Its easy to obtain carnuba waxes over here now. no 26 meguiars, Dr Chemie ok wack and Blitz are all avaiable over here Pm me for more details.

Thanks Rich,

I think the main problem for me is that I like to go to a shop and buy products. Ordering over the net is a last resort. Have you ever used Autosmart products:

www.xec-carcare.com

I will keep you informed on the Race Glaze samples that they are sending me. I would still like feedback off any other users.

Steve

I see your point

I always phone both i auto and Meguairs. I wish i could buy them off the shelfs in Halfords, like i do with autoglym.

SP 325, try the Blitz wax, you will not regret it and it will give you a good benchmark to compare the Race Glaze. The only thing I could find for Race Glaze (UK) talked about a "Colour Enhanced" wax. I am not sure but this sounds like one of those dyed waxs

As Rich said, there is no real problem getting good quality stuff in the UK, even importing is very easy these days. Also dont discount Autoglym, which is a good range of products.

Steven

Blitz wax is out of stock to the end of next week, from Frost.

Steven , do you apply your super resin with a foam applicator??

I used to use Autoglym Super Resin all the time and still think it is a good product. We did have 2 black cars though and the white dust was a pain so I then switched to Meguiars Gold Class Liquid Wax. So now I have taken to washing, 3M IHG (occasionally) and then MGCLW.

Race Glaze International UK (full title!) are apparently at the NEC for the motorshow and also at the BM show at Donnington Park on Sunday. I will speak to them then and see exactly what they have to offer, I hope the samples they promised me arrive before I get to speak to them.

Any UK people used 1st Impressions aerosol polish ?

Steve

Some of the guys in the Peugeot sport club have used the ist impressions stuff. It has mixed reviews, dodent really appeal to me, so i left it alone.

Its quick but thats about it

Have a small review here if you want it?

Yeah, I got free samples from the PSC. We were a 2 pug family until 3 weeks ago. I sold them and bought a BMW 325iSE. We needed a 4 door as she is expecting a baby any day now. I fell for German engineering, solid build and 192Bhp RWD.

Steve

Steven , do you apply your super resin with a foam applicator

Yes, I have used the Meguirs stuff which works best for me. One day I will get myself a PC.

I agree about the white dust from the Resin Polish, but one quick wipe with a MF towel and thats it.

Steve, congrats on you expecting baby

Steven

I have plenty of megs yellow applicator pads. Still applying and removing mine with the perfect polishing clots. Will try applicaton with a foam pad and removal with a MF at the weeked then.

I got mine from a group buy (Neatitems) many months ago. There used to be a shop nearby that also sold nice towels, but not as good as the Neatitems ones. But they stopped selling them now, so when I go somewhere new I keep a lookout for new towels.

I have tried the Halfords towels but I think they are to rough, so I use them for the engine bay or wheels etc

Steven

I use megauirs ultimate wipes, expensive but good. Thought the same about the Halfords ones as Steven did.

Where did yu get the neatitems ones from?
