The wheel wells on my Mazdaspeed 3 were looking a little drab. I started by cleaning with BLACKFIRE All N One All Purpose Cleaner 3:1 and wiping dry with a microfiber towel.
As you can see (above), my wheel liners are in fairly good shape and do to frequent cleaning with pH balanced car soaps, they are not faded at all. I was slightly skeptical if Sonus Trim & Motor Kote could produce any visual impact. I know that I could spray a shiny spray on (which I don't like) if I wanted to alter the look, but I was looking for a darker, richer finish.
I placed piece of 3M Painters Tape on the wheel well for a 'control', then lightly misted (2 light sprays) the Sonus Trim & Motor Kote on the well.
I did get some overspray on the paint, but as recommended, a little quick detailer and a quick wipe and it was gone.
20 minutes later I sprayed another light coat on the wheel well. This time it only took 1 light mist for even coverage.
Two hours later I removed the tape (some product and seeped under the tape so I cleaned this with BLACKFIRE APC with little problem. Here is what the wheel well looks like after Sonus Trim & Motor Kote cured.
I will update this thread with photos every couple of days until the effect is gone. I will also test to see how it stands up to regular cleaning with car soap and water.
