Quick question.

I have the following polishes M105 and M205 and HD Uno should be here tomorrow.

I have a g35 pretty soft paint. So I didnt want to go really aggressive and take off too much clear coat thats not needed. So I did M105 on a white pad. An aggressive polish on a non aggressive pad. I figured that way I still have some cut but not a TON.

It got out about 60-70 percent of swirls/ Minor scratches. (BTW I did a test side on the hood I did the left side of my hood to see what I can do with M105 on white pad) Just so no one is freaking out that I did my whole car.

IDK what to do from here. Should I try going up a pad (orange) to get out the swirls and little deeper scratches it didnt get out, and use M105 on an orange pad? Or should I do UNO on an Orange pad since its probably not as aggressive on M105 and then finish up with Uno on a White pad? OR even maybe go down and Use M205 with a White pad. Not Sure if I should go more aggressive or Less Aggressive at this point.

I just dont know which direction to go at this point. I have Griots DA btw. Just got it!

I think I would hit it with m105 and orange... and then 205 with white (and if you want finish it with black pad)

Cool thanks ill give that a shot tomorrow.. Can you apply Waxes with a black pad. I see in there description it says Black pads are for Finishing Polishes and or a Sealant or Glaze. But nothing about wax. Black pad is the softest pad I currently have so JW if I can use it to spread wax on if not I guess ill just put it on by hand

well...i depends on the wax--but honestly, WAXES I think are best applied by hand...I know someone had an actual defined reason for it--but for me I just feel like the finishing touch like wax should REALLY be done by hand and paid special attention to...

Since you're not using a rotary, and you have the 105+205:

1. 105 + Orange. Do this slowly as it's the only step you're doing that'll reduce the swirls. Get it right the 1st time.

2. Wipe with undiluted alcohol many times and inspect. 105 can cover up lots of swirls, so pls don't be deceived by the good looks.

3. If necessary, do Step 1 again.

4. 205 + white.

Most enthusiasts like to apply waxes by hand. Nothing wrong with that.

Some prdts, such as NXT2, could (repeat:could) result in uneven patchiness if applied by hand.

Personally, I like to apply waxes by DA+Black Pad 'cos it gives a more even and super thin distribution. This could make buffing off easier.

Certain products such as Megs Gold Class, if rotari'ed to a well-prepped surface (eg with black pad) produces a wetness and clarity unmatched by hand application. I have 10 diff black pads used for 10 diff LSPs at my shop for this purpose!
