Quick question about Klasse AIO application...

Hey guys, this is more of a me-being-a-worry-wort question. Today, I did the following:

1) Eimann Fabrik Powerwash+ wash

2) Pinnacle Polyclay (hood, front airdam, front two quarter panels)

3) Eimann Fabrik Powerwash+ wash

4) Klasse AIO (2 coats on every place painted)

Now, my question is this. About an hour or less after I finished the 2nd coat of AIO, it rained (go figure :angry ). I had planned to add to the above the following two items:

5) Klasse SG (1 coat)

6) Pinnacle Souveran (1 coat)

Will it be ok just to wash the car tomorrow, dry it off and start again with the SG? Or is there an intermediate step I should/need to take?

Some help on this one would be appreciated. Thanks a lot ladies and gents....

Alright sounds good, I will do as you say.

And as far as pics go, I wanted to take a pic just of what it was when I had done the two Klasse apps. But I couldn't find my dad's digital quick enough... :doh. Oh well, you'll all just have to wait. It will be worth it I promise.

Anything got anything else different than ZaneO?

This happens to me all the time, as I have no garage, am consigned to curbside-detailing, and mostly detail between 5:15 p.m. and dark. I've had to do the same thing. Just re-wash, and slap that KSG on that puppy. :up

Thanks for the help fellas. I appreciate it.

A separate question. How long do you think I should wait to apply the Souveran after the coat of HGSG? A full 24? 12? More? Less?

I’ve topped HGSG without waiting as well as after waiting for a day or more and haven’t noticed any difference in the results - - but I have NOT done a side-by-side comparison.

I'd like to see info on the required curing time for both Klasse HGSG and Menzerna FMJ.

For maximum shine, consider at least 2 more layers of SG before the Souveran. Once you apply Souveran, there is no going back to SG ais it won't layer over any wax and you will need to go back to the AOI and start over....

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

A molecular bond or a covalent [a chemical bond formed between atoms by the sharing of electrons] implies that the monomers (polymer building blocks) cross-link to each other during curing, resulting in a solid, durable protective layer. Polymer Sealants are designed with an open linked molecule and need approximately 48 hours from the time of application to properly cross link and bond with the vehicles paint film surface. Be sure that the paint film’s surface can be left undisturbed from rain and water for this period of time or the surface protection may be compromised.

Sufficient time should be allowed between removing residue and applying more layers.

Polymer Acrylic – 24 to 72 hours, Synthetic wax 12 to 36 hours, these times are a guide only as they will vary by manufacturer and formula.

~Hope this helps~

So, basically what you're saying is, if it rains shortly after AIO'ing or SG'ing, you need to start over? Specifically with SG, the effort is wasted if the car gets wet within 24 hours of application? Bummer. I better get another layer on there.

And here I thought I had finally made it to 3 layers of SG. It rained here for almost a week straight. When the weather broke, I rushed out for a wash/SG session. Hadn't washed the MINI in almost two weeks (:horror:). Shortly after I finished, it rained one more time briefly. I went out and dried the car again at 10:30 PM. (Neighbors think I'm really wacky at this point).

My plan was to move to P21S toppers for a few months and then restart the cycle (AIO, SGx3, P21S, P21S, etc.).

That’s the theory, but then most of us (including me) use QDs and they contain water
