Questions about startup costs ... Do these numbers sound right?

For professional detailers with a shop and employess and have been in this industry for years, I have a question about my start up costs and they typical costs. As I am trying to wrap things up on my business plan I have been plugging numbers in for my initial start up costs. My business partner and I have found a 3200 sq.ft. shop in Palm Beach, Florida. We have information on all our insurances and all our equipment that we will need. We plan on having dealership accounts and fleet vehicles services as well. We will have an employee doing mobile services for customers that cannot make it to our shop.

Now my initial startup cost are at $34k... Does this sound about right? Again detailers with big shops please input on this. What was your general start up cost? We do have a potential investor and we are wrapping things up to present to him and we do not want to exclude anything. This number does include a 3 month reserve for payroll,building costs,insurances,etc.



Please help us out, we are almost almost there! :heelclick
 
^ +1 I figured that would be everyone's answer. I guess now that it is nearing the end we are getting a bit excited and nervous and just want to make sure we have everything looking good. but thank you for your input sacdetailing. Anything is better than nothing.
 
I'm assuming you're leasing your building and your cost projectons thus far are with maybe first and last month's rent, not pre-paying for an entire year ?



Other than that, the number seems fine. Like sac said, we can't do the math for you, but we could probably tell you if the number was blatantly too low or too high (obviously if you had said $3K, or $300K (without buying the building), we might think something was off).

Correct, good to know everything is turning out fine so far.
