Questions about a good composite PDG

I am not 100% on some information. Is it true that some units can measure multiple coating thicknesses inside the same measurement? An example would be measuring the clear in one reading and then a base coat in another and so on. Not that that is a make or break deal for me as I've lived with a steel/aluminum pdg for a number of years and just err on the safe side. But knowing more about this potential option is interesting.

Further, I've seen measure ranges such as 2-150 mils. Which equates to about 50 microns+. How does this work on composite panels? I do not have personal knowledge about how thick composite resins(or clear on non-metal, fiberglass or typical plastic bumpers) is. I would imagine most are not 2+mils thick leaving a lot of guess work if it falls below that threshold. Is that the case?

Please educate me in general and give me any personal feedback on composite PDG's.

I am interested in spending some coin on a quality composite PDG. If you can suggest some good candidates that you have experience with that would be great. I don't necessarily have a specific budget but all other things the same, I would get a unit that was more economical. If I can spend -$3k, great. If the best functional option is $3k+, fine too.

PosiTector® 6000 Series (composites; plastics, carbon fibre, fibre glass, etc you will want the FN or FNS models as they work on all metals) rugged, fully electronic coating thickness gages use magnetic and eddy current principles to measure coating thickness on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, accurately and quickly. SSPC PA2 feature set determines if film thickness over a large area conforms to user-specified min/max levels - PosiTector 6000 coating thickness gages, gauge, meter use magnetic and eddy current principles to measure coating thickness on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

would be nice to have for all the lambo and ferrari work, and carbon fiber/fiberglass panels I am working on as well. Might be in the market as well down the road!
