Question regarding ultimate compound and LSP's

I have had good luck both on my boat and car using a quick pass of UC with my GG DA and then applying UPGP. Should I be spraying down the surface after the I buff off the UC? Like with ISP? I am going straight to the UPG but can I do better if I wipe first after the UC?

thanks guys..

I am a big fan of UC on gel coat. I have had equal success with IPA wipedown or without. The folks at Meg told me not to LSP the walking surfaces to reduce risk of slipping. they recommended simply polish, wipe down, leave it. The polishing oils are good for the gel coat.

I like Powelock on the vertical surfaces.

The question is are you wiping down the surface to see if the paint is fully corrected (removing polishing oils) or ensure maximum durability from the paint sealant?

For personal use its going to be a matter of preference. You may see slightly longer durability from wiping the surface clean but it has been my experience that UPGP bonds pretty well to anything.

thank you (and Todd) - the boat surface I'm using UGP on, is automotive paint+clear so it's just like my car....it's turning out REAL nice...
