Question- Is PBL Wheel Coating ok for matte wheels

I have a car coming Wednesday with hyper black matte wheels

I don't have DLUX yet. I was going to order it today (this car is a little earlier than originally scheduled)

But I do have half a bottle of Black Label wheel coating still. Just wanting to make sure its ok- the bottle says all wheels but I have never worked on matte wheels before

If not I plan on using Hydro2 Lite to hold them over until I get DLUX in

has anyone used pbl wheel coating on matte wheels before?

I figure its ok but wanted to make sure.

I never got an answer as I was going to coat the matte wheels on my bro's Harley with PBL. Hopefully someone chimes in but I suspect it would be ok.

IMHO

unless you can get a definitive answer, I wouldn't. Stuff = shiny

that's what im feeling Ron

he ended up having to go to Houston for a meeting last minute so might not end up making it back for a drop off tomorrow...but im gonna order Dlux for my truck and car anways so if he reschedules I'll have it before my next available opening anyways

what about Hydro2 lite?
FK1000p ?

IMHO

both will add shine.

and doesn't Dlux add shine too? from the si02 ?

seems if dlux would work then pbl should as well (as its not as strong as dlux) but im no chemist

matte stuff presents it's own problems. if the stuff gets into the "valleys", you'll never get it out and return em to original look... That's why they have special matte stuff. Half the car companies will void paint warranty if not specific products used.

so what should I use then?

it appears I will have time to buy something now

I don't see how it would be bad if dlux is ok...they both add gloss IMO

but id rather be safe than sorry of course

I am sure you saw SizzleChest's thread and saw that he coated some matte wheels with DLUX. Should give you an idea of how they will look.

PM me your address and if you want to try out some Adams Quick Sealant to try out as well. It's been discontinued. It gives the same look as DLUX based on the photos I have seen on the Adams forum. It will last a few months.

Thanks...i think he is bringing the car today.

I'm still not sure what i will do with the wheels. I just ordered dlux but i probably will not use pbl wheel coating.
I will text pics of the wheel if/when he shows and maybe someone will have a suggestion that i have on hand. I'd like to use hydro2 lite though. That's something he could use every other month as well for a quick spruce up.

I don't think Hydro2lite would add as much gloss compared to pbl wheel coating and it doesn't take long to use at all..im going to be up against time with this detail.

he's more concerned about the paint anyways.

PBL Wheel coating will be fine on Matte Wheels. the only time I would hesitate to put it on matte wheels is if they had been repainted.
