Question about scratch repair

I put up this teaset earlier in the week and a question just popped into my pointed little head.

Should I polish out the spots with the scratches before I fix them or after? I know I will have to sand and polish the scratch after the repair.....but just drawing a blank on the whole deal right now......:hairpull

mose- I'd hit it with the SIP/PFW as you'd planned and *then* go with ~3K paper if necessary. And I myself would aim for "better" as opposed to "perfect".



I don't like to immediately start wetsanding because sometimes serious RIDS respond better than expected to less aggressive measures.
