Question about Edge pads.

I'm very seriously considering ordering some Edge pads tonight, so that they'll be here by next weekend. First, and I know this is a stupid question, but can the 6 inch pads be used with the rotary adaptor?

Second, how do you guys think I should go about ordering them? Get like a "starter-kit?" Or can anyone recommend a decent selection?

I use the 6" on a Makita, EXCELLENT control.

Get the starter kit, I have 2 of each including the Orange and Red Autogeek exclusives. I use the WAVE for polishing and just got 2 flat red for applying wax. (previously I used a flat white)

I personally think edge pads are sh1tty as fuk...

I recommend lake county pads 100x over edge...

I've gone through 3 edge 2000 green pads, 3 edge green pads, 2 edge 2000 blue pads, 2 edge blue pads in a 1/2 a year...

They velcro keeps melting, plate in the 2000 pad keeps seperating from the pad causing the pads to rip apart insanely...etc

Lake country makes MUCH better pads imo

I won't argue which is BETTER, because that is a personal preference.

I have used EDGE 2K on rotary with no problems. The pads and center plate are still intact.

Individual results may vary.:nixweiss

What the hell are you doing to the pads?

Im going on a year, all my edge pads have seen an insane amount of working time (hundreds upon hundreds of hours) and they are still like the day i bought them.

Nother vote for the Edge 2K. I have 8" foam and wool pads and they've cut through crap, clean up fast and hardly show any ware at all. The only negative I've ever heard about Edge was the adapter failing on a PC. I think Edge was really meant for a rotary or cyclo. I personally like the flat pads over the wave, but either will work fine.

Well guys, I tried out the pads today (actually about 20 minutes ago)....LOVE the blue foam, a bit light but it IS a finishing pad. I moved up to the green foam just to see how it would cut and finish...finished not so well and couldn't really get a feel for the cut as it kept grabbing and hopping. I'm thinking about getting some of the wool; which ones would you guys recommend? For sure the green one, but any others that may come in handy?

green and yellow were recomended to me. I tried a yellow ccs wool and OC,easier to control then the foam from what I've read and my brief experience. It cuts very good and easy, now working on finishing it up w/ white foam and OP and still have some marks.
