Quality License Plate Holders?

Hi guys. I just purchased a 2012 silver Hyundai Elantra Ltd a month back and it, naturally, came with the dealership license plate holder. I'd like to replace it, but everything at the auto parts stores are super cheap feeling. I live in Illinois, so I need front and back plate holders. On my old Infiniti G20 I had plastic tinted covers (no bracket), but got tickets because tint isn't allowed in Illinois. I thought it looked nice. :( Now that I think about it, I also got tickets when I attempted to not put the front plates on.



So, what legal license plate holder is high quality and would look nice? Any suggestions?
 
Griot's Garage has nice quality frames. Be prepared for $$$.



You need to determine what is and isn't legal in your state. I know my state sez you cannot cover up any of the printed words at the bottom edge or top edge of the plate. Covers of any type are always forbidden, Amber.
 
I am fanatical about plate frames. I like to have my plates covered but like a clean look. In some cases I like totally clear ones because it disturbs the lines of the car less IMO. I am always changing them. I'm not big on having words or logos on them. The less attention drawn to ugly plates the better. There is a manufacturer, I forget the name, who makes plate covers for Weathertech and Griots and others. These are sealed with a rubber strip and keeps things clean. Very high quality. Shop around since prices for these vary widely for the same product.
