Hey guys I use CMW (carnuba Moose Wax) on my and my wife's mustangs and looking for a good QD to use with them. I have used Quickshine and the Zaino QDs and they were ok, looking for something to WOW me. I was thinking of the Optimum QD and was wondering what the concensus is. I know that there are many people with more experience than me. Thanks guys.

Personally, I was blown away by OPT QD.

I think FK 425 and OPT are about the best two overall, according to many people on this board.

I've learned to be a little careful about using FK425 on carnaubas. It usually works fine, but on rare occasions it does a solvent-action that can really mess things up.

I like Griot's SpeedShine on waxes, but I dunno if it's gonna really wow anybody else :nixweiss

I really like FK425, but after seeing Accumulater's comment I may need to re-evaluate.

Not to hijack, but Accumulator can you expand on the "solvent-action" you mentioned for us newbie's here? Does this mean that the solvents in FK425 tend to break down 'nuba's faster than other QD's?

Yeah, it's a tricky call because you don't want to write off a good product if it'll work OK.

The FK425 caused a pseudo-hologram effect when used on FK425, on an admittedly compromised paintjob where there were lots of microfissures/etc. that might've held excess product which might've played a part in the whole thing.

Much as I like FK425, I now use it pretty much exclusively on sealants. Not to say it won't work perfectly on waxes for everybody else ;)
