Ok I have a brand new black 330i its been raining here like crazy these past few days and will be for the next 4 days. Water spots drive me nuts and im nervous of water spots. The car is garage kept. Had to use the vehicle last night into tonight, was at the gf's. Car was just refeshly washed. Came home hosed the car off real real good. Used some spray and wipe and draged the towel over the paint putting no pressure. Using many towels, then went over with some QD. I just did the hood, roof and trunk. These panels I find most prone to bad water spots. Think this is bad news for the paint? Should I be alright? Should I not go about this process again?? Any better suggestions?? Need it to stop raining so I can wash it. Chris

I don't see why it would be bad. When I drive my car in the rain then come home I dry it off really well then QD it. If it's sat in the rain for awhile and there are spots on it I usually do the same thing you did - apply spray and wipe like I normally would. Yesterday my car sat in my parents driveway all day while it rained. When I got home there were dried spots on the hood, roof, trunk - I just S&W'd them right off. I assume since you have S&W and are obviously concerned about the car that you have sealants/waxes on it?

I find that if I keep my car dust-free I get few, if any, water spots after rain, even when I do nothing to dry it after returning to garage. That happened today and the car looks perfect. I even did a QD on half the hood after it dried to see if there was a difference. There was none!
