QD for use with Collinite 845

Just purchased an 08 GTI in United Grey. I'm planning on starting with AIO and then finishing up with two coats of 845. What would you guys reccomend I use as a quick detailer? Been thinking about Ultima's Detail Spray Plus or Surf City's Speed Demon or Hot Rod. Does it sound like I'm on the right track? I'm new to all of this. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. :thx

I suspect anything will look great on a 08' with #845 on it...

The main QD's I have used are #425, AW, QS.... I plan on trying the ones you mentioned.

Hello!

Hot Rod detailer just edges out 425 IMO, it certantly looks better on metalics over products i have used including 845.

Im a bit of QD junkie but i have not tried Ultima's Detail Spray Plus. No doubt its probably very good, but may have better bonding with the Ultima line?

Certantly anything in that upper section of QD's like 425, HRPD, Pinnicle Crystal Mist, Clearkote Quickshine and this new Optimum QD should do you well and leave your paintwork looking great :xyxthumbs

I applied 845 to a United Grey R32 about 3 months ago and I recently gave it a wash and a wipedown with the new Optimum QD. It looked great and was very slick.

I ended up buying Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer although I'm sure all of your suggestions would have also worked out great. I initially considered purchasing Ultima's Detail Spray Plus from autopia but then found Optimum Instant Detailer on another site. The packaging and description for both products is extremely similar. I'm fairly certain these are two separate products, anyone know for sure? Thanks for all of your help. I'll post some pictures of the final product.

You should be fine with OID, it's getting rave reviews from everyone. I have some at home, just waiting for the chance to use it!!!

OID is now my go to. I still use UQD on door jams, though. OID has some of the same ingredients as the OCW, but added cleaners and can be used as a waterless wash as well. It's very slick, indeed, but you'd have to try 'em all to see which one you like on your car. I haven't tried the Ultima yet, but that'd be the next one I'd try from the reviews I've read.

Big Ultima fan here. However I will not be purchasing their detail spray again anytime soon. I was generally disapointed with it versus Optimum or Adam's. I would suggest you check into either of those.

Ultima makes great protectants, sealant, and the PPP is awesome. My favorite product is the PGP.
