QD a Souveran finish...

I have just waxed my car (and my buddies SRT-4) with Pinnacle Souveran because we are driving to a car meet tomorrow morning. My question is: What is the best QD to take aff the dust and other things we will pick up during the drive? I have EO wipe n shine, UPP UGE, and Pinnacle Crystal Mist. I know that the CM would be used last, but what do I use before it to get it ready?

Oh man, this is a sticky situation because if you pick up any kind of contaminents on the way you are going to marr your finish, and if for some reason a car in front of you is leaking oil, it will smear all over the place.



If you have no choice and *must* do this without washing the car, I would first dust it off with a California Duster or the like, and then use Crystal Mist to QD it. Just remember to be VERY gentle during this process, don't just start rubbing on it.
 
Can I use the EO Wet Wipe N Shine? Or will that take off the carnuba? I planned on using the CM after my initial "dust wipedown" but I just not sure what to use to get to that point.
 
I'm not familiar with EO WWNS, so I can't really say, but you don't need an intermediate QD step. You can immediately use CM, if that's what you want to use. I suggest CM because it was designed to compliment PS specifically.
 
The California Duster is probably a decent idea and will work alright so long as you are not driving a long distance and the roads are in decent shape. This is one situation that exemplifies why I think everyone should have S&W. A waterless wash would be your best bet to use before CM so maybe get some QEW from a local RV store tomorrow (to find a dealer go to the Protectall website). If you do not have one nearby EO came out with a bucketless wash but I am not familiar with it. You can probably mix the QEW (or the like) with water in a spray bottle and use it that way, just bring along a bunch of MFs. Follow up with the CM and you are good to go.

You can go do that right now. When layering waxes you really do not have the curing time that sealants require although I do like to wait atleast 2-3 hours between.
 
I just put a coat of Souveran tonight on my black 350Z to get ready for a Z meet tomorrow. I followed up with Sonus Carnuaba Spritz. The results were very impressive...:xyxthumbs
 
But my question is, can I use it a QD? Or can I use the EO Wet Wipe N Shine before the CM? I just do not want ot jeopardize my Souveran finish.



Lastly, should I wait before driving after I put on anothert coat of Souveran? Or is it a WOWO and go thing?

I am leaving for the "car meet" in an hour or so, and I really need to know about touching this stuff up whwn I get there. PLEASE HELP!

I don't have experience with EO QD...I do with TW UGE...under any circumstance dont' use it over Souveran!!!!



You CAN QD Souveran, but it must not contain any synthetic/silicone that will give a silvery sheen...you'll lose ALL the Souveran depth...I know, I've tried it on several cars and completely stuffed the finished!



TW UGE is only good on white cars!



The only QD that I've had experience with quality carnauba finishes and are safe to use are:

Mothers Showtime (best)

Megs FI (good)

Megs QD (good)



I hope this helps.



I suggest you go over a small area (1x1) with EO QD, or what you want to test, and see how it looks compared to the surrounding area.



If it looks worse, apply Souveran over it and it'll be back to how it was.



BTW, Souveran IS a wowo wax. Don't let it dry...just apply, wait 30sec and wipe off. :xyxthumbs
 
I dont think that the EO has any of those in it... But maybe I will hit the local auto parts store on the way out to see if they have the Mothers or Meguiars QD's...
 
Jason, this is what *I* would do.



I'd get Mothers/Megs QD to use when I get to the show. Use it to wipe down after removing dust/dirt, then re-apply a coat of Souveran. It'll just look better!

I QD with FI and re activate Souveran with Crystal MIst. Crystal MIst is mazing when used for quick gloss enhancing ( rather than cleaning) wipe down via DF Towel.



Be sure to try applying Souveran by spit shining using Crystal Mist as well :bow
