Where can you buy good air vent cleaning cotton swabs or something that will get in the vents and clean them our. I have been using regular q-tips but they are too much of a pita. I have had a lot of dirty dust vents lately.
Have you ever tried using compressed air instead of qtips? I havent used qtips or brushes in years after trying it this way. It has become my most favorite way of cleaning!
I do use compressed air in the vents but it doesn't get rid of dirt, you can still see that light dusting in the vents, I have even sprayed the vents with APC and then used compressed air. Compressed air works fine on new cars without much build up.
I use a natural bristle 2.5" Paintbrush and some Pledge. Yes, I'm brave enough to admit I use Pledge when detailing my car It just seems to pick up the dust better than the Megs #40 I like to use on the dash.
EO makes a little vent brush that actually works quite well. It has two felt covered little fingers (think mini-popsicle sticks) that are spaced apart just enough to slide over the louvers. It won't get into the other areas (I have another EO brush for that), but it makes a quick job of the louvers. 'Bout $2.50 @ Wal-Mart.
If you are looking for swabs, any medical supply store should have them. I just bought a package of 500 for $5.99, IIRC. I really think they are a "must have" for detailers. Its amazing how many uses they have.
It fits right on with the 1.25" adapter. I need the adapter because my hose handles 2" wide attachments
With that little adapter you can then use all the little attachments.
Adapter and brush should be like $5 - $8 for both.
Here is the complete kit I have However, I don't have the hose, just the little attachments and 1.25" adapter (purchased separately). I bought the attachments all together in a box and the adapter (like I mentioned) separately.
