PwC - Hand Application

Mr. Clean

The Man Who Knows The Man
I have just recently added PwC to my arsenal specifically to be used on lighter colored vehicles with solid or metallic paints.

I am going to make the Wife's VW NB Silver Reflex (metallic) my guinea pig. The finish is already in good shape having clayed, AIO(x2), and Liquid Souveran when new last Spring.

Because of the size (small) of the car and the good shape of the paint, I am considering not breaking out the PC and doing this by hand. I am obviously looking to show off the reflective nature of the silver paint while also showcasing the metallic. I will be following up this application with EX-P.

So, the question(s). What have been your favorite hand applicators for applying the PwC, foam/MF/cotton/other? Is there much breaking down to be done with the polish? Should I just go ahead and break out the PC?

I don't have SSR-1 (shame on me) so that is not an option right now. I have to get this done by Saturday.

Have not used the PwC I have, but applying by hand is ok. I will/would use a MF app or terry app to give it some bite, if that's what I need. If not, an foam app will work fine. From there EX-P will be very nice.

Not exactly the answer you are looking for, but the results were so good when I used the PwC with the PC and a Meg's polishing pad, I think I would have to get the PC out even for a small car. Probably would be fine by hand, but I know it will look good with the PC.

applying by hand, I'd rather use cotton and remove with mf..
this gives the bite as described above:D

Thanks folks for the responses.

Charles, actually there wasn't an answer I didn't want, as I may break out the PC anyway. I'm probably just being lazy...not wanting to mess with washing the pad(s)
