Purple Foamed Wool

JaredPointer

COME AT ME BRO
Does anyone have any experience with this pad (or any of the wool pads) used on a Flex?

Any idea if this would give me any better ammo versus the water spotting or would it clean up wetsanding marks better than a foam type pad?

I haven't used it on the Flex JP, but I love them on the rotary. I prefer them over an orange pad any day. They leave a good finish for the cut that they achieve. They also run cooler than a foam pad. I have read about other people using them on the Flex with great results as well. Maybe Troy can chime in.

I have only used them on my rotary but I have heard much praise from those who have used the PFW pad on a Flex.

Same here no reason to use a orange pad when the PFW works so much easier and better

I just received mine for the rotary 2 days ago, i used it on my truck, which badly needed a good buffing, this pad is awesome and easy to use. I have 8" wool pads, but decided to go with a 6" backing plate and the 6.5" LC purple wool pad, this is a great buy.

i want to get the wool pads but cant decide between 4 or 6.5 inch ? should i splurge on both or no ? i have a PC7424 of course and am leaning towards the smaller one because ppl say they do correction work better with the PC, i cant really afford over another 100$ purchase when i wont be using them for a while so i really only want to get 2 more pads maybe 3 tops .

Get both - I have had good luck with 4" pads on the PC, but my backing plate blew up and I was supposed to get that replaced. :D

Reminds me of the old woll pad days prior to foam.

However, these purple pads are way better than the Schlegel pads of long ago.

You can correct wetsanding with purple pads almost down to LSP with polish change it's that good.

Never used a Flex, only rotary with wool/foam pads.

You'll love it when you realize how well it can cut/level/polish.

so these pads arent solely for cutting but thats just what is most popular i understand ?

if i bought them i would probably only use them for cutting purposes too

You can cut/level with the purple, but also polish out very well.

Remember, some of us ONLY used wool pads for a long time before foam pads. OK, so I'm dating myself, but learning to use wool is a must. With the right wool pads, correct polish, you can get corrections done in less time, but it take practice and skill. Wool will burn paint fast!

However, the purple pad is much more forgiving than most other wool pads.

You just have to match the pad to the problem you have in front of you!

Your not dating yourself, i always grab for the wool, i own some different foam and still can't get use to them. Wool is so easy and works so well.

It took me a long time to get used to foam pads. I too like the way wool "feels" on a finish as I can read it better.
