Protection from Washing/ Spray Detailer Scratches - Sealent or Wax?

The interior of this car was a mess. Hay, dirt, $5 or so in spare change, and some dog puke was in the inside of this car. After a through vacumming, spraying down and srubbing of the carpets, seats, and getting that puke out, the interior was up to living standards. I almost past out while vacumming out the inside due to the smell. Automotive Internationals Odor Temrinator was used along with Meguiars All purpose cleaner (apart of the Detailers line.) The interior came out very good, darn should of taken ebfore and afters! It was all clean, fresh, dirty free, stain free, and smelling factory fresh, well close to it.



The exterior was a mess. The wheels were all brown with brake dust and dirt. The trim was all white and chaulky. The paint was very oxidized and chaulky.



We tried the PC and Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner (between 3M Finesse It II and a rubbing compound) with a wool pad to half the hood, followed by two applications of the foam pad Machine Glaze.

I cleaned the passenger side real wheel, but not the front wheel so heres a picture of that

The Meguiars was work to remove, needed a few shots of Qd to help remove it from that half of the hood, so we just used the foam pad machien glaze X2 and final polish to the rest of the car.

Whats the consensus on this?

Seems like the sealant being slicker, would allow dirt and debris particles to slide off easier, but the wax being softer would allow gunk to penetrate it easier and thus not scratch the clear when wiped off.

Any comments or experience?

Believe that waxes will attract dirt faster and may not be as durable as a good Sealant.

Any time you touch your vehicle, there is an opportunity to introduce scratches, which are very easily seen on Black paint, and not as easily seen on lighter colors.

The combination of Blackfire Sealant and their Blackfire Wax is darn good, and the products compliment and work best with each other.

There may be other products out there that are better, more durable, etc., but that is so hard to define accurately since everyone's paint, cleaning abilities, washing products, techniques, weather conditions, are all so diverse.

I personally use a lot of Menzerna PowerLock on my Clients vehicles, because it looks great to me, and seems to have a reasonable amount of durability.

Sometimes I use the aforementioned BlackFire Twins on high end cars such as Ferrari, etc., because they really bring out a beautiful glossy finish.

Have been experimenting with Chemical Guys BlackLight Hybrid Sealant and their V7 spray sealant on my own Black Grand Cherokee, and so far the results are outstanding for showing the different metallic particles very clearly.
