new forum member Silvy11 was asking for a wheel protectant for his 20"kmc xd wheels on the intro site. i believe those are a mat black finish. any recommendations ?

I know that Chad (Rasky) has used OC on matte wheels with great success. I feel that OC is the best protection for wheels.

For a paint sealant I would go with any of the WOWA paint sealants

BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal
Ultima Paint Guard Plus
Optimum Opti Seal

These will add a small amount of sheen on flat black wheels (not enough to be glossy) and offer good protection with out worrying about staining or getting difficult to remove residue.

Optimum Opti-Coat would offer the most protection.

i personally have tested sealants like blackfire wetdiamond sealant, wolfgang deepgloss sealant, however it does enhance gloss a slight bit. however, i would just go with what todd suggested.

Swisswax makes a wax for matte colors that works wonders

really pricey but It's a must have when you wrap and paint stuff matte a couple times a week.

If he is in the bay area let him know he could swing by my shop and ill hook him up with enough to do the wheels

Thanks alot guys.... ill post some pictures of my truck with the wheels. A lot of you are right, very hard to protect a flat wheel wo making it shine some. Maybe ill try the opti-coat. I just hope it doesnt make em too glossy!!:autopia:
