I'm going to use 3m smr.

1) Should I use a yellow pad or a white pad?

2) What speed should I use? 2? 3? 4? 5?

What pad and speed you use depends on how bad the swirls are. Are we talking light swirls or medium or what?

Medium swirls

If they are truly medium swirls then SMR probably ain't gonna cut it. But, you can try SMR with the yellow cutting pad and see how far you can get.



If that does not do the job you will need to step up to Finesse-It 2 with the yellow cutting pad and then probably polish it down further with SMR. :up

I spread it about at about a 4, and then work it in at a 5 or 6.:up

yeah i am waiting on my pads i orderd them monday night at about 1am (tuesday morning) do you guys think i will have them by friday? i ordered it regular ups. and will be using the smr also . any more tips for a pc newbiee?

3M FI-II 2 with a yellow pad, work the product in until it begins to haze/dry itself and this should take about two passes to get rid of the medium swirls.



It worked perfect for me.
