Proper Engine Cleaning?

I have been detailing cars for over 10yrs . I have now started doing work for dealerships & they want there engines perfect!
I have noticed even after bagging the alternator and dist cap that some american cars seem to miss. the two that come to mind are the ford probe and the chrysler sebring. it seems that water seeps in through the plug wires on the top of the block. does anyone have a good solution to this problem? now remember that some of these cars are so bad, and that the dealerships pay a base rate for each car no matter how long you work on them so time is of the essence. My idea was to take out the plug wires on the top of the engine and place duct-tape over the holes. I'm open for suggestions.
thanks

Have you tried tin foil? That conforms better than bags and you may be able to bend it off in such a way that it keeps water from getting down there. What methods are you using for protection currently?

Engine Detailing is tricky some times tin foil works the best plastic bags usally let the water thru as fuzz said tin foil.

Well all new Fords use "Plug On Coil" or usually referred to as coil packs. These are usually down inside of the valve cover, which creates a cup.I just wash it as normal and then blow them out with air.You can get them pretty damn dry.The newer coils are less prone to allowing the water to get past the boot and getting to the electode.I start the motor immediately after washing to create heat to dry, before the water has time to seep into all of the electronics.

hey thanks for the tin-foil idea
I was working on a sebring which I have had problems with before. I took out the 3 plug wires in front, taped the holes off, used tinfoil to divert the water away from them & bagged the wires as well
thanks again
