Project: Pioneer's Showcar

I finally got permission to share with you all a project that I have been enlisted in. Believe it or not, this has been pretty much top-secret.

Pioneer has chosen 10 car audio install companies to build 10 show vehicles for them. They will be featured in magazines, brochures and shows. This one is being built by Sound Sensation in Marietta GA. I have been hired to detail this car inside and out. This is a big honor for me. I will be attending it's first showing at a competition in Arizona in early April. This will be a Pinnacle-only detail. Last week I came down to evaluate the car but quickly went to work cleaning all interior panels and trim. I will not go back until the car is back together and then I will start on all the paint correction.

Here are some spy photos of the largest detail of my life!

Ok. A self-portrait at 6:30AM on a 1.5 hour trip. Red Bull is not kick'n in yet!

1999 Mercedes CLK440. Pretty dirty since it was the shop's owners daily driver.

Some pics of the install. That's 4000.00 plus in just Dynamat sound deadening material.

Subwoofer enclosure. It will incorporate a motorized port for sound quality and SPL (loudness).

This is the trunk's amplifier rack. There will five in all. The holes are for 4" fans to help keep them cool while under stress.

This is all the interiors pieces waiting for me to clean.

I had to clean, treat, and bag each piece. I will have to clean again once in the car. This is how the owner wanted it.

This will be an ongoing project. I will upload more pics and details as I can.

Thanks to all!

This guy has some money to burn. Let me have some.

I'm willing to bet that he's not paying much of anything for this build as it is probably 100%sponsored.

Can't wait to see the final results!!!

Pioneer is footing the bill. He just has to provide the labor and car.

Woah, that sounds like a pretty big job. Pioneer's project cars are always show winners, and I'm sure you'll be up to detailing it for them. One quick question though. Most of the Pioneer cars utilize a lot of fiberglass. How do you plan on cleaning/polishing the fiberglass pieces (I'm just wondering b/c I'm woking on a fiberglass box myself)

And yes, Keep the pics coming :spot

Great job Justin. As you know, your client is also a friend of mine in the past. I know how anal he can be! Better you then me! hahaha

Looking forward to more pics!

Hmm, pretty cool. So in comparison to say, the alpine show cars, these are real world application of products rather than crazy wild creative projects?

Cannot wait to see this one Justin!

I hadn't heard of a CLK440 before. Is that some wicked AMG conversion?

Wow this will be pretty cool once finished

I actually get up at 6am tomorrow to go and finish this one. I simply can't wait! At least the interior will be done other than some touching up.

There will be tons of pics and a huge write up guys!

Thanks for asking!
