Product Application W/PC7424

Today was the First day that I decided to use my PC on my car and I was having a difficult time with the products spraying all over my car (i.e. Windows/trim EVERYWHERE).



I used to use a rotary for a partime job that I had and never did I get so much overspray everywhere. I used less than a dime of SMR on my pad (meguiars polish pad) and I set the speed on 1 and it didn't seem that it was applying on the car it was too slow. so then I took it up to 3-4 and instantly it would spray everywhere. I got it all over my legs (SMR on your legs = Shinny and swirl free!!!)



What am i doing wrong?? It is a nice machine though especially on #6

Did you apply a bit of pressure on the PC when you were first spreading the SMR around the car? leave it on a low speed until its spread out, then move up to 3-4 with less pressure, and finally around 5, with basically no pressure at all.

I didn't really use much pressure as I read about letting the machine do the work. But I did try a couple of times and I felt like the pad would of stopped on the paint, and I didn't want to burn out the motor.

Thats odd about the splatter, I usually get zero splatter with the PC and lots of it with a rotary.

I get no or little splatter from PC, and mucho splatter from my makita...you maybe using too much product..

The meguiars pad's are 6" is it maybe that I didn't put on my 6" counter weight? DUH!!!

After you put the product on the pc did you rub the pc around the panel of the car with the motor off on the pc to spread it around??????
