Problem accessing site is/was at icann

Yesterday I could not access this site and I called Embarq tech support.

I explained to him about the problems and he said they must shut down the old site.

I told him that after several days of chaos it had been shut down.

After a couple hours of checking my computer and things at their end and consulting with one of their engineers they said that the problem was at ICANN ( Internet corporation of assigned names & numbers )

He said that the site administrator should notify them so they could change the DNS in their server.

These are not the same as your ISP has these are for the entire Internet.

I sent a E-Mail to ICANN and told them what was going on and ask them to look into it so if the problem has not been permanently fixed yet it should be in a day or two.
 
Strange thing that I can only access this site in the evening.
Tried several times through out the day but it said site not found.

i know this is going to sound odd, but after clearing cookies and them internet files, did you try a full shut down and start up. I don't mean a restart but letting the system power down completely?
Just a thought...

I have not had any issues with logging in to DC. The email notifications for posting are lagging by many hours though. They used to come within 1 hour of a posting.

Consider yourself lucky on the site access. It was a real hassle for a lot of people.

My Yahoo e-mail notifications come through almost immediately.
Example: Pockets posted in the "it's coldout there" thread at 10:50 and my e-mail notification is time stamped 10:50 and I think it was in my mailbox at 10:51

I don't get e mail notification but I never have not even on the old server.
I could not access the site all day just like the past week I have to wait until after 7:30 pm before I can get it to load.

I think someone in your house doesn't want you online during the day :lol2:
