PrinzII vs. The Avian Toilet

This vehicle is a 2000 Dodge Neon that belongs to my girlfriend. I have been trying to wait for the opportune moment to detail this car and, since the weather is over 70 degrees and sunny, I am going to do it today. This car is parked under a tree which means it's target practice for the local birds.

The car does have some deep scratches on the rear bumper that I don't think can be buffed out. In addition, I am going to go through the weatherstripping to see if the rain channels are clogged because this car will get water inside of the car. However, this is my plan of attack for this little neglected Neon.

a) Wash with Dawn, clean wheels with P21S Gel and Wheelwells with P21S Total Auto Cleaner.

b) Clay with Sonus Block

c) Remove scratches and paint transfer with 3M Light Cut Rubbing Compound and the PC

d) Polish using Meguiar's DACP and Sonus SFX White Pad

e) Klasse Twins

f) Autoglym Glass Polish

f) Pinnacle Liquid Souveran

For the inside, I am going to clean the dash with the Blue Perl MF applicators and some diluted EF HI on the vinyl. For a protectant, I am going to use 303.

Pat, this was me when I couldn't open the garage....:angry :angry

However, this does give me an opportunity to revise the plan of attack a little.

One thing I notice about this car is that it has a fair amount of curves which makes me a tad :nervous: about using a rotary polisher on it. I think a PC on 6 using DACP and the new SwirlBuster pads will get the swirls out. As for the paint transfer, I may use my SFX-1 polish and SFX spot cutting pad.

The question is not weather you can make this car look like new again, because Im sure you can. The question is , will she keep up the car after your done?
