Pricing out used stuff....

What do you guys are fair prices for selling detailing products? I've seen lots of stuff priced at like 80-120% of current prices from vendors, which sits and rots with the owner bumping and wondering why his stuff hasn't sold. I've also seen stuff posted at fire sale prices and stuff gone in seconds. I'm looking to sell a good bunch of stuff and want to price it out fairly.

What do you think are fair resale prices for:

-New, unopened stuff

-Used stuff (obviously volume will be accounted for)

If I were buying something new, I'd pay what a store is asking, but with free shipping. If something is $20 + $5 shipping at an online store, I'd prefer to pay $20 shipped, or something similar.

If it is used I'd just decrease the price accordingly. If you use up to 25% of a product I'd expect a drop of about 25% of full price, plus free shipping.

Passing things on via Forums I frequently ask for 1/2 the price of new plus shipping.... accounting for volume on used. The exception is barely-used equipment. I peddled a Flex 3401 that'd only been used a couple of times for 200 bucks. I purchased it before the big price jump and got it on sale with free shipping so I didn't lose a whole lot but someone got a bargain.

My personal take, if I bought something I didn't need or don't use passing it on reasonably priced defers some of my self-inflicted loss and gives someone else a decent deal. Plus I'm not sitting on it long and constantly checking and rechecking posts and PMs. My e-mail is listed on my Profile and I insist I ONLY respond via e-mail in order to have all correspondence in one place and ease of archiving.

If I'm looking to get max pricing on something I can't pass on reasonably I eBay it and let the market decide what it's worth. So far eBayers have usually paid too much for stuff.

If any of the pads are 5.5" I too am interested and depending on where you are in VA I'd be willing to pick them up in person.

Dan, you will just have to come to the new facility and bring all your stuff you want to get rid of and we can have people come by and pickup what they want.

Got a dump truck I can borrow???? LOL.

I'm in the same boat, I have over 100 pads, gallons of samples, bottles of samples, and a whole bunch of other stuff that is good stuff, i'm just not using it so it deserves to go home to a good place. I got 5 gallons of CG Sticky Wheel Gel Cleaner used once. :)

Hey DJ I sent you an email with my phone number trying to connect with you. Seems like I probably should have held off for a bit before placing that last big order of mine. Im currently living near yall in a little town called Purcellvile just west of Leesburg a tad. Im moving south to SC later this week but will be starting up my own detailing business down there. Its hard to work up here without a shop and Im getting tired of working outside wondering if the ground is going to freeze underneath me after I wash. Thank goodness for ONR! I do need pads, tire treatments and other things Im sure so you and Yakky let me know what you have or when a good time to meet up will be within the next few days. Thanks!

Yes I got it. I replied. Let me see what I got exactly and I'll make a thread of everything I want to sell. I will only be around this week on Wednesday most likely. Maybe some Thursday too.

That's more than fair IMHO.

Way I look at it, if it's something I don't need or use I'm already out the cash, might as well pass it on reasonably and recoup something without sitting on it forever. Plus what goes around seems to come around as I've been the beneficiary of some very reasonable deals as well as some sample freebies.
