Wax Waster
Most of you know, I have a hard time keeping mouth shut.............

This is from a different forum, but...................

I hope you do not make the same mistake that I did. I used Griot's polisher. My car is laguna blue and for my trouble I got nice swirls and a few scratches as well. So here simplified, is the very complicated process of how to clean your new stingray. Do not use a buffer. I did and it was bad. So I consulted with a guy who it takes over a month to get onto his schedule. His credentials are over the moon. People ship him cars from all over the US. The last car he detailed sold for over $9 million dollars. So someone trusted him with a Picasso in essence. 1. Spray the car with max force to remove surface dirt. 2. Beginning on the bottom, wash up to rocker panels with wet microfiber rag while holding hose with running water over the rag. 3. Rinse with soft spray. 4. Start on top of the car and repeat working down. Change rag often if car is really dirty Rinse as you go along. 5. With very slow flow rinse entire car with sheets of water. This will leave only a few beads on the car. 6. Dry with soft cotton or microfiber… Wax car once a year. Do not use soap of any kind. It just takes the wax off faster. Try this before before you invest in anything more than a really good Carnuba wax.
As my dear departed German car nut father would say as he complained about American mechanics etc "Vye zo komlikated? Make Dass vary Zimple, vary Eesie" It is going to cost me $1000 to get my car back to almost new. If you insist on buying a buffer and all kind of other chemicals I have a low miles Griot and a cabinet full of cans, jars and bottles that I will sell you cheap. No offense but claying a new car. Do so at your own peril. Clay picks up harmful grit and moves it to another part of your car. Leave that stuff to the pros. Besides you will not need it for ten years. Please understand that I am not interested in starting a war here but I could cry when I look at the flaws I put in my car by being over enthusiastic. In fact i am looking forward to 2017 when I can trade this in and start over : - (

Ya know I had to answer him.......

If this is from a Corvette forum.... and there are more people like that there.......they should probably stick to Zaino. :D

WOW! He must of used the wrong side of his polisher or coated the pad with sand and broken glass. Most likely he set the polisher down on the floor pad side down...

To bad for him but I had a good laugh.

Thanks, for sharing Ron.

Poor guy, i was disgusted and amazed at the same time by reading his opinion. On a good note: more business for us thanks to those like him. Did you show him pictures of your 'Vette Ronkh? oh and the awards/magazine cover as well? probably not even worth your time, but would be pretty funny to see what his come back or excuse would be after seeing the results you can get.

Tact has never been my strong suit...... So I'm gonna say it like it is.

You obviously did something wrong. Simple. Glens' techniques are spot on and have helped MANY here and on other places.

I will tell you for a fact that washing a car with just water will just add to your swirls/damage.

Again, Glen is a diplomat with his choice of words, me I call it like it is.

You did something wrong.

You might want to take pics of the damage and ask people how to take care of it. Or pay your "expert" 1k+ or trade it......

If I don't shut my mouth, I'm gonna get banned

No reason to be banned. You are just telling the truth. If the guy doesn't like it he can ignore you. Good thing he doesn't come here to see all the damage our members have inflicted on our rides!

I'd be surprised if you got band Ron. I found the thread your mentioning, if anything the other fellow is the one trolling and stiring up trouble. Your just calling him out on it. I doubt he'll respond to your 12:19pm post asking more info.

mmmm, "real" Coors, the Banquet Beer.

Back on topic, I've been on forums where people literally call each other idiots and "xxx" and sundry adolescent accolades, and that goes on all day. But, mention a competitor website or link to a non-sponsored item, and Bam! Suspended. I hate the internet. No wait, it's people I hate, no wait no it's the new Corvettes. Yeah, that's what I hate. I gotta hate something.
