Pretty sure I'm ready to step it up to the orbital, but which?

I've been thinking about it for a couple weeks now and the PC is becoming too slow for my jobs. I'm thinking I need to step it up to a rotary, just not sure which one to go for. I don't do a ton of jobs, just on weekends as side income. However, I am just tired of a PC taking forever to level hard clearcoats and I doubt I'd have any problem working with a rotary. Any suggestions on what might suit me best?

If your only doing your own car and the paint is in good condition you'd need nothing more than a Orbital porter cable. It will remove the light swirls easily and allow you to apply sealants.

A rotary allows for scratches, heavy swirls and big paint defects to be removed 1000 times quicker. If you are doing other peoples cars in poor condition a rotary will pay itself off very quickly. Though for applying sealants and glazes a rotary can be difficult for a beginner.

A flex is half way between a rotary and porter cable. It has enough cut for most cars and is easy enough to use so that you can apply glazes and sealants without any holograms. The flex is the ultimate detailing machine IMO.

If you are doing poor quality cars a rotary would still be the prefered option. If your doing new paint then you may as well get a cheap orbital and save money.

If you want an all round machine and will be doing alot of cars that are in fairly good condition then get a flex.
