Prepping for 1rst BFWD use

My Blackfire WD will be to me on Tuesday, so I intend to do some prep work this weekend to be ready when it arrives. I will be applying to an 09 Highlander in Blizzard Pearl (metallic) which is currently wearing polycharged DG 105. The paint is in excellent shape having been clayed and polished with Menz FPII about 3 weeks ago. It is about as close to 100% swirl free as I have ever been able to acheive.

I have various AIO's I can use such as KAIO,ZAIO,DG501 etc. I also have EZ-Creme glaze which has some slight cleaning ability.

Since this is a light colored auto, this attempt will be mainly for gloss, secondly for depth, what do you experienced BF users suggest? If there are better prep products than those listed above, please feel free to suggest. I dont worry about # of steps or work involved, as this is therapuetic for me. I am soley after the best finnish I can acheive. Also, is BF best applied by hand or PC, or is there a consensus?

Thanks in advance!

I would just use any of the AIO's you have for a great foundation and top it of with 2 coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond. Just do one panel and see if you want to go that route.

If I decide to use the acrylic type glaze underneath Blackfire, will it have a big impact on the durability?

I use to use CG acrylic glaze under most of my sealants for added depth, especially on medium color finishes like blues and reds but I always wondered how much durability would be lost using a glaze basecoat, even one that has no fillers and its pure acrylic base.

You'll find when you lay down an acrylic glaze the finishes slickness will greatly imporve, this is a good thing if wax were going over it but my concern was that the glaze would heavily effect the bonding on my choice sealant.

I just finished a blue M3 and normally I would have used the CG glaze and then follow with my sealant but instead I just went with 2 coats of the BF WD and I couldnt be happier, full spectrum finish (depth, clarity, gloss). Plus now I wont have to think about durability issues.

For prepping I had the car fully corrected and right before apploication I gave the car a thorough IPA wipedown to ensure no oils were left on the finish and it was literally squeaky clean

My vehicle is fully corrected, so with a midwest winter looming I will probably do an AIO and 2 coats of BF. I have only used ez-creme once, and it did seem to add some pop.
