Preparing New Alloy wheels

Hello all,



I recently bought a new set of alloy wheels for my VW Golf.



I recall reading a thread in the forums that it's wise to prepare new alloys for long lasting protection against break dust, tar, e.t.c



So I would like to prepare my new alloys before actually fitting the new tyres. Its easy to now since i can do a more thorough job.



What procedure /materials do you suggest?
