Preparing a new MF Towel order...would like input

I'm looking to put a MF towel and LC pad order in tonight or tomorrow. I just detail my 3 cars, RX-8, Impreza and an Escape. All I use is Zaino for my exterior which I apply by hand or with a finishing pad. I bought some towels from Fiber-Works last year but they seem to be out of some of the towels I use. I have polish removal towels and some QD towels from FW. For my weekly washing I use a Sheepskin to wash but I purchased a Viking MF today to try this week. Then when I dry I use the sheeting method and dab the car with a Viking MF big yellow. After the wash I use Z8 with a QD towel. I'm thinking of getting a large WW from PakShak and small one from there. Also thinking about their ultra-plush for QD. What do you guys recommend, the one with micro-band or silk? Also for the interior windows I have the Viking towels but I don't know what I should use for the exterior windows, any suggestions? Should I buy 2 sets, one for each car? The Escape just gets washed minimally. I need to replace my orange LC pad and I was thinking of getting the CCS pads. Any suggestions would be awesome!

I buy my towels from the Chemical Guys - they sell very good quality towels dirt cheap. Pakshak makes a better towel but not enough to justify the big price increase for me - it might be worth it to you.

If you're using a PC, don't get a CCS pad. Mine fall apart quickly if used via PC.

Hey timmah, mine fall apart really fast too, and they leave crazy amounts of hazing with SSR 2.5. one of my favorite polishes.

Im glad im not the only one.

I use the CCS pads and not a problem..I have the ones from Danase and AG...The ones from CMA have a problem with the glue....I use them on both the PC and Rotary and work fine....best pad I have used for Menzerna..my Edge pads took so long to get results..the CCS pad showed them right away...

Do you recommend the 5" or 6.5" CCS pads from LCM? Also, how do CCS pads compare to flat pads or Edge pads?

I like the VROOM MF towels found at target. Also the white WW MF towels from WalMart are a good buy.

I try to stick w/ 80/20, the CG towels are 70/30.

But if themightytimmah says they are good i will take his word for it!

if you get a drying towel from pakshak, get the ultra-soft waffle weave drying towel (alot softer and nicer than regular ww's, imo) and if you get the ultra plush mf's, get the microband edgings, they'll hold up longer than the silk ones. also, if you may want to pick up a few of the edgeless mf's, they work best on glass than ordinary mf's ime...

I bought the CG elite deluxe super (yellow with black band) and I think they stink. The best I have tried so far are the 16x24 from Adams. I just rather not spend the money on Adams and I bought them when I didn't know better. Also Adams now have the mf pads with the same plush mf as their towels. The waffle drying towel from them is also very good.

Does anyone know where Adams get's their microfiber products to buy them direct?

They are a private label (not owned by CG) but sell mostly\all CG chemicals under different label, don't think they get their m\f from them and that is what I am looking for.

Is not 70/30 a better combo than 80/20?

70/30 is better (and usually more expensive) than 80/20.

I realize this is an old thread but FWIW, I got a set of towels from Patrick at exceldetail.com and couldn't be happier: soft, thick, resists stains better than my other OTC towels.:bigups This kit has all the basics and then some:

Excel Supreme Kit

Patrick's WW is light years softer than Meguiars water magnet and value priced compared to reportedly identical towels from other sources - see the links from post no. 2 in this thread:
