prep your pads with water or qd?

When using a wax or sealant, do people mist their applicator pads with water or a qd to prime the pads sort of speak? I often find when first starting out with a clean pad I usually need to use more product to make it spread easier. Once I do a panel or two it's gets better.

I use a QD, for me Clearkote's Quik Shine.

I use Z8 to prime the applicator when I use Z2Pro.

For KSG I apply with a dry applicator.

Oh, I should have stated for those who prime their pads, why do you do this? Is it so the product will spread easier when first starting out?

I do it with Z2 to help it spread more evenly and so that I don't have to put as much Z2 on the pad.
