Prep work for gtechniq c1 and a LSP

Hi everyone,

Just ordered some Gtechniq C1 for my new car. I am curious about hearing what prep work others have done before applying this. Is it just your normal: wash, clay, polish, wash, alcohol wipe then apply?

Also is anyone putting anything on top of the C1?

If you use P1 to polish you can skip the IPA wipe down. After curing you can top C1 with any wax. Be sure to watch the vid on applying C1.

I just did this. Here is what I did, wash, clay, polish with P1, apply C1. After applying C1 and removing the residue as per the instructions, it needs at least 3 hrs to fully cure (I left mine overnight before I drove it)

How long did the process take you?

Did you hand apply the C1 and P1?

Any lsp?

Overall thoughts on the process? Easy, hard, etc? Worth the money?

Took maybe 2hrs to buff out with a DA and Orange pad, but I have a 2005 Ford Freestar, so quite a bit of up and down the ladder to get to the roof. P1 Machine applied. C1 hand applied (C1 is the LSP)

It was very easy to do, for C1, I worked in 1/2 panels except the roof which I broke into 6 sections, mostly because I didn't move the ladder until that section was done. Worth the money for C1, for me definitely!

Only professionals can buy C1, unless you can sweet talk them into selling it to you.

Prep is the key to C1.

..Has anyone used Griots Pre- Wax Cleanser... Accumulator?

Nah, I think I have a bottle of it around somewhere, but I've never used it. I'm pretty much all about PrepWash for stripping, although I did use my Zep40 glass cleaner to strip some compound oils the other day.
