Powergloss then Final Polish II ??

Has anyone used Powergloss on a dark color car and went right to FP II ? I recently purchased PG, IP and FP II and I'm still playing around with them. I detailed a dark red pickup the other day and used Powergloss followed by Intensive poilsh and then Final Polish II. The truck came out incredible, but I was wondering of the IP in the middle was really necessary? Could I have gone straight to the FP II with out any swirl marks? Thanks!

It really depends on what your using to apply PG with (rotary vs. PC), and what condition the surface is in when you are done. IP will give you more bite on the PC for clean up, where FPII works fine for rotary work.

All work was done by rotary. I applied the PG with a yellow cutting pad , IP with a yellow cutting pad and followed up with the FP II with a white polishing pad. After using the IP with the yellow pad there was some swirling left, but I'm sure the cutting pad had something to do with it. After the FP II with the white pad the paint looked perfect and swirl free. I guess I'll have to experiment a little and find out for myself.
