possibly going the machine route...

Hello all,

Long time reader making first post.

I have just taken delivery a Carrara White '07 GT3 which upon a closer inspection seems to have some medium to light swirl marks/scratches on the quarter pannel. I have tried to use Meguier's Scratch X with minimal results and would like to look into possibly going the machine route.

Anyone have much experience with this type of clear coat?

Thanks,

Steve

I was just working on my neighbors '07 Carrera this weekend. He had a lot of swirls and an issue with water spots. I was surprised when my GlossHaus medium polish got most of the swirls, but didn't put as much a dent in the water spots as I expected. I went one step more aggressive and the everything came out great.

I took away from this that the clear was harder than I expected, so I'm guessing Scratch X applied by hand isn't going to tackle what you are seeing. A Porter Cable or similar would be a good step in the right direction (it is fun, too!).
