Porter Cable/Cutting Pad/Wax

I was just curious if you guys knew any tutorial videos for the porter cable! I purchased mine last year as a complete kit with Poorboys products which work very nice but I feel I am not using them properly or getting the most out of this investment! I think I need a heavier/stronger cutting pad cause my car is Dark Green and has alot of scratches! Any advice on what to get? Also, is Menzerna's (I believe thats right) a ggod product for paint? I want to try it but cannot find it anywhere to purchase! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

What type of cutting pad and swirl remover are you using. You shouldn't need to go further than a polishing pad and a medium cut swirl remover for the problems you're describing.

Awesome video. So going from the video, my problem was I believe I am using to much product and not working it in well enough. Should you always use a quarter size of product no matter what product your using? Also, is it best to go ahead and complete all steps on one section? I was applying the swirl remover to the entire car, then going back with the product to bring back the gloss, then applying the wax to the entire car. Is it best to complete all steps for one section and then move on? That guy made it seem so simple! He was so fast!

Using a orange cutting pad with Poorboys SR2.5! I think my process and technique is just wrong!:hmmm:

Thanks for the vids! Already learned alot! I love the Poorboys but also want to try Menzerna's (check speeling)! Do you know where I can pick this up from?

I think that using the SSR 2.5 with the orange cutting pad is a little overkill unless the swirls are really really bad. I would try using it with a white polishing pad first then go from there. Just so you know what to use for the next time. Without any pics I cant really give you solid answers. Could you take some pics and post them up??
(Vids) Thats why we are here to give you as much info as possible:)

I will try getting some pics up within the next week or so. I live in Ohio where the weather is consistantly rain/snow, snow/freezing rain/ sleet! But I will definately try to. My car definately needs some detailing done. From what I have noticed though its just a bunch of fine small scratches all over the hood, trunklid, few other places. I have to order some more product and wait for a nice day to get started. Just doing my homework! Thanks for the knowledge and I will keep you posted and will also try to snap some shots of my car! Thanks again

Yea you should be fine with the LC white polishing pad with the SSR 2.5. It will get those swirls right out do you have anything to follow it up with and seal the car???

My process was wash=clay, Poorboys Sr2.5, Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish to bring back the finish, topped off with Natty's Blue! What do you think!

Can you please be a little clearer when offering advise a white pad is not the same for all compaines.. just stick with polishing pad and you'll be a lot safer:gotcha:
