Porter Cable Counterweights

So the PC comes with a 5" counterweight, if im going to use a Autogeek 5" BC with LC CCS 6.5" pads, do I need a 6" counterweight?

The 6" inch counterweight is needed unless you are using the 6" inch backing plates. I have an extra 6" counter weight from my PC (I gave my old PC to a friend of mine) if you would like it. That way you are ready if you want to move to a 6" backing plate.

PM me with your address and I can mail it to you.

I hate this topic!

cliff notes: the CW are sized for a standard PC BP with a peice of sandpaper stuck to it

So the larger CW is the best all around one to have for detailing

many people (myself included) have used PC's with different CW and there is

LITTLE TO NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM

I have found out the same thing to be true. I just like to give everyone the standard answer that I was given by Porter Cable when I first got it.

That is also the main reason why I am just giving him my 6" counter weight. It might as well get some use, instead of on a fishing line (just kidding).

The UDM has no need for a counterweight and I believe that the Flex or Festool are the same way.

are you making this up as you go along? J/K

by the nature of the machine it has a CW

now if you can see it or change it that is a different story

Let me be literal so that I am well understood. J/K

The UDM does not need a counterweight. (meaning that it is not a customer changeable item on the UDM. It is permanently installed).

I apologize for the misunderstanding and hope that this clears things up for you.

so a 6" counterweight is better than the OEM counterweight that is included in the PC even though im using a 5" BC with 6.5" pads?

I have to agree with BIGJIM, I bought into the counterweight thing bought the different sizes and don't notice one bit of difference. Then I bought a rotary and now rarely use the PC, you won't have vibration with the rotary.

a 6" is closer to the correct size

again:LITTLE TO NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM

it sounds like howareb is willing to give you one if you would like to see for yourself

F.Y.I. PC's came with one or the other depending on the model #

so they are both OEM
