Lowes seems to have discontinued it and AFAIK HD never carried it. The rumor is it's being discontinued, but I can't state that as a fact. The best price for the PC might be on eBay, or Coastal Tools has it for $99.00.

Personally (today) I'd go with a UDM, but there is nothing wrong with a PC if that's what you want and they have served a lot of us pretty well over the years.

For pads and backing plates I'd go with Danase or Exceldetail.

You could also look for the PC 7336, which is the same machine only with a 6" backing pad. I got the 7336SP, which has the 6" pad and a 6" polishing pad, too. Bought a 5" pad and counterweight for polishing and keep the 6" plate for occasional (non-auto) sanding.

so a UDM is better? I thought alot of people are having problems with those. why did this all of sudden come out and really is better? So many years the PC was the best.

Yeah, those are long gone. I was able to snag one last December as a spare but wound up selling it to a member (at cost) who needed it more than I did due to a handicap.

Autogeek has them on sale for 109.99 currently. on there forum it was suggested that black and decker bought PC and pulled from shelves at most stores.

dont i need counterweight plate and velcro backing plate? That is just the PC. Also i would need lake country pads. I dont think they sell those extras.

as onelazydawg pointed out, AG has the PC on sale for $109. so it would be beneficial to order it from them and get the backing plate, pads, etc.. all in one order. if you spend over $75, you can use the code " ago " and get free shipping and you'll save at least a minimum of $17 right there, so it will easily make up the $10 difference as if you were to order the PC from the other places...

should i get the one with edge system? do i get the pads with the rivals in them or flat plain ones if i got the velcro?

I like the PB's PC combo deal at autogeek, it's a bit much but a nice place to start. This package could tackle almost any job.

alot of people are saying getting the 5" BC with 5.5 pads or 6" BC with 6.5" pads, but autogeek says and there packages come with a 5" BC with 6.5" pads.

YES!

The Edge system rocks. I purchased mine from a local detail shop (Adam's products). Snapping a pad on and off at will, no velcro hassles, no balancing issues. It rocks!

Get it would be my advice.
