poorboys trim restore???

i have a older golf gti with black plastic arches /bumpers



id like to find a product thats non greasy and doesnt wash off in rain



is poorboys any good...any suggestions



btw my trims are not faded, i just need to put a even sheen on them that lasts
 
Trim Restorer gives a very nice look to trim. I tend to get streaking with it if I don't buff it off after application. But otherwise it doesn't seem to streak.

Yeah Forever Black is a dye to restore trim color. I don't think you need to redye the trim every week. Just get a protectant to preserve the color.
 
Trim Restorer works well, but it is oily (at least it is when you first apply it). When you've buffed it off though it's OK. I've also heard good things about Meguiar's #38 but haven't tried it personally yet.

Forever black for me did nothing but leave streaks, make the vinyl and plastic trim go hard and didn't provide the finish that optimum PP, wolfgang BD, 1Z gummi or Sonus tire gel can

Have come up with my own trim product that has the oxidation removal power of clearkote VM, RMG and YCW plus the glossy finish (non greasy) of sonus or wolfgang tire gels and lastability of a paint sealant all in one.



I am interested in trying the trim a shield from Top of the line.

Their pizzaz wax arrived from ranney pak today and looks and smells impressive.
 
I use the Trim Restorer on the plastic parts on my SUV. I have had good luck with it thus far. I may try buffing it to get the greasy feeling to go away faster. I used to use Back to Black on these parts but am finding that the PB product lasts much longer.

I use TR for trim maintenance (trim in decent condition) as well. I have my best and most easily acheived result by applying with a 1" foam brush, let dwell for 30" and then buff off with the PC using a MF bonnet covered finishing pad. I've TR will never do its best job unless thoroughly buffed out.
 
Apply TR with a foam paint brush, let it dry, buff off with a MF. It will last about a month on the exterior.
 
MY BAD!!! I didn't read well enough to see where he said the trim was not faded! But if anyone needs something like that this is a good product.
 
poorboy's trim restorer is a good product. so is black again exterior trim restorer. the black again can also be used like the TR. but both products may be considered greasy, and do run if not given enough time to dry or not buffed out. between the two, *i* prefer the black again as it doesn't have as much shine as the TR, more of a nice sheen. lastly, both seem to last about the same amount of time.



one question though, is this trim textured or smooth? if it is smooth, you might want to try klasse's AIO as it isn't greasy and lasts for a while.
