Poorboy's Glazes

I am contemplating buying some Poorboy's glazes (black hole and/or white diamond) but I am unsure how much to buy.

How many oz does it take to do a sedan? a large suv?

How well does black hole look on light cars? white diamond on dark cars?

That depends on you

Black hole looks fine on light colors - gives more of a "pearlized" appearance.

Never tried white diamond on dark, but sure it will work. Just might not give as "warm" look as bh.

To the best of my knowledge a glaze does not effect the longevity of anything,, glazes will change over all appearances, for example it will give a dark color a depth that is like no other, on the lighter colors it gives an added deep wet shine to the over all finish, its almost like light refract between the between the 2 layers. (the Glaze and LSP)

as far as how much to use?
Black Hole and White diamond both remove easily even with a slightly heavy application. if you do decide to use BH or WD and apply your LSP with a machine use the possible LOWEST setting,, Glazes do not protect and should not be used as an LSP, there soft and do not take to being worked to much after setting up, so my best advice is to apply your LSP by hand so not to lift the glaze.

My personal preference is to use BH on darker colors and WD on lighter, as of yet I have not done extensive side by side comparison with BH and WD on the same color.

Hope this helped.
Good luck.
Keep us up to date on your project.
A Detailed finish is like porn to most of us.

Stephen just put bh on his car (silver) cuz he wanted more of a pearl effect. It worked, but no pics yet since he hasn't done the wheels. Hopefully tomorrow since he goes back to school Sunday.

FWIW, I got 4-ounce samples of BH and EX-P in a sample kit. I've been able to do 2 applications of BH and 3-4 applications of EXP to my Tacoma pickup.

Better...the sample kits and other PB stuff are 25% off at Autogeek right now.

I have used both as directed and would say less than 1 ounce will cover a large SUV. I like the results of both, though I do not use a glaze very often. I would highly recommend either or both.

Thanks for your replies guys. You were very helpful. I'm pretty close do Macungie PA. Wheels of time car show next weekend. Might have to pay the poorboys booth a visit.
