Poorboys EX-P or EX - more durable.

OK, I've decided to go with Poorboy's as my sealant choice. Now, the EX with carnuaba sounds like it would be the better looking of the two. Question: which is more durable?

Durability is the deciding factor between the two. If there is no difference, then I'll go with the EX-P. I plan on topping and maintaining the sealant with OCW.

Durability is EX-P

IMO for dark cars use EX then a topper. Much deeper/wet than EXP with topper. Metalics and light cars use EXP.

For me, durability is about the same between the two. EX-P is more reflective/clear ... great on light colors and metal flake. EX is better on darker colors and solids. My 2 cents.

I like the EX-P. I put 3 layers on a metallic flake black, and now it really pops - I can finally see all the different colors in the flake.

EXP is more durable, but EX really has a nicer look.

EXP with Natty's Blue over it looks better than EX AND has durability.

Dark green Accord you say?

Optimum Compound, Vanilla Moose and EX w/carnauba:

We have a winner!!!! I have the same color and style Accord but in a sedan. It's a 98 EX-L.

My 2005 Ody is a silver pearl metallic. There is definitely some sort of metallic flake in it.

I ended up ordering the EX-P. I also got a gallon of Optimum Car Wax. I plan on sealing and then topping with 2 coats of OCW. I'll maintain with a coat of OCW after each weekly/biweekly wash.

I don't think PB's products are too picky in the way of "bonding" over glazes--at least I have never seen it.......

FWIW, I find EX-P and EX to have about the same durability. I prefer EX, but rarely use either as there are other options which I much prefer to EX/EX-P.....

I haven't reapplied my sealant since the end of April. I use a bi-weekly spray wax (Aqua Wax), monthly paste wax (pink wax), all topped off with the anti static FK 425. Car is always shiny and the water beads every time. Sometimes I wonder if an Autopian really needs a sealant.
